Mosaic was distributed every 6 months to approximately 10,000 shareholders, members of the wine trade as well as local and international media. It offered us the chance to meet the innovative people who work with the vine. From the onset it clearly offered one of the few chances to get these people the recognition they deserve. This included directing photography on good cover shots.
Zirk van den Berg, Mosaic editor (2000 - 2004), says:
Working with Chris on Mosaic was most enjoyable and rewarding, quick to understand what I had in mind and more often than not suggesting ways to make it better.
The designs were always a pleasant surprise to me, as he often had to work with inferior photographs and still found ways to make the whole look sophisticated and striking. Though he was able to vary the style, for me the design work always bears a classical hallmark.
